About Us

Zeager began doing business in 1967 as a family-owned saw mill manufacturing various products for the wood industry. By the late 70’s Zeager was the first to produce a product called engineered wood fiber which by the mid 80’s became an excepted surfacing for playgrounds because of the high impact attenuating properties and natural look. In recent years, Zeager participated with the U.S.D.A. Forest Products Research Lab in their development of a stabilized engineered wood fiber, which we now offer as Bonded WoodCarpet. Their research was a direct result of the U.S. Access Board’s desire to improve the accessibility of engineered wood fiber, which was recognized as one of the more commonly used playground surfaces. Today we offer a full range of playground surfaces, both unitary and loose-fill, that meet ADA, ASTM, CPSC and CSA standards. Our surfaces are third party certified and have been lab and field tested under a variety of climate conditions. Our sales team is second to none and regularly attends U.S. or Canadian playground safety training to ensure our customers receive the best service and support. Our customers include public schools, private schools, child care centers, recreation centers, military bases, federal facilities, churches, homeowner associations, state parks, counties, top 10 cities and small towns.
