Two inches of WoodCarpet® combined with Zeager’s specially formulated binders are spread and tamped over a carefully compacted WoodCarpet® base providing for improved access while maintaining excellent fall protection. It’s one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to design accessibility into and around key recreational features. And since the top layer is fully bonded, children are not removing material during normal play – nor bringing wood fibers inside after play.

“The Bonded Woodcarpet® system installed here at Quantico Marine base has allowed all of our children including those with disabilities to access all areas of our wonderful playground! The surfacing is soft enough to protect our children from falls yet firm and stable for wheelchair access. This surfacing combined with the wear mats installed under our slide exits and swing areas is going to save us money in the long run since maintenance is now minimal compared to raking and resurfacing the wood fiber like we did in previous years. We recommend this surfacing to any one looking for a natural looking surfacing that's safe and accessible.”

“I installed a trail at a national park using the Woodcarpet® Bonded system where regular wood chips failed to hold up because water kept washing them out, and a natural look was needed. The Woodcarpet® Bonded system keeps the wood fiber in place and is resilient when you walk on it. Now people in wheelchairs can enjoy the same beautiful scenery as the other hikers because the trail is more accessible and not effected by rains. The representatives at Zeager were very helpful and knowledgeable when it came time to install the trail.”
